NHN-EBS Collaborate for 'Advancing Future Education Through AI'
Cooperation in Creating Educational Content Using AI
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] NHN announced on the 6th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Educational Broadcasting System (EBS) for the "Advancement of Future Education through Artificial Intelligence (AI)."
This agreement was established to build a cooperative system for the advancement of future education and talent development based on AI and Edutech. Both parties agreed to jointly promote ▲ production of educational content using AI ▲ establishment of a cooperative system to enhance cloud-based services ▲ development of Edutech cooperation frameworks ▲ collaboration on talent development projects ▲ joint development of educational content.
Along with this agreement, NHN was selected as the developer for the Ministry of Education's project to build an "AI-based English Speaking System." The AI-based English speaking system utilizes speech recognition technology to implement functions such as student voice recognition, sentence conversation practice, and pronunciation correction services, providing a real-time English learning environment anytime and anywhere.
The signing ceremony held at NHN's Pangyo headquarters the previous day was attended by key officials including NHN CEO Woo-jin Jung and EBS President Myung-jung Kim.
CEO Jung stated, "Through the agreement with EBS, we will play a more active role in the advancement of Edutech," adding, "The AI-based English speaking system is a service that integrates new technologies such as AI and cloud, and will become a successful case of Edutech in the public education sector."

President Kim said, "Applying AI technology, which is emerging as a core future task, to public education services such as English will be an important turning point for innovation in public education," and added, "We hope it becomes an innovative public education model to resolve educational blind spots caused by regional and income disparities and to nurture future talents."
