Ministry of Justice Installs Thermal Imaging Cameras in Affiliated Agencies to Prevent Spread of Novel Coronavirus
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The Ministry of Justice announced on the 5th that it plans to expand the installation of thermal imaging cameras at affiliated institutions nationwide, where many civil petitioners visit, to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Among foreigner residency management agencies, 21 thermal imaging cameras have been deployed at the Seoul, Incheon, Suwon, Busan, and Jeju Immigration Offices. All installations in the metropolitan area were completed on the 4th, and installations in other regions are expected to be completed by the 7th.

Thermal imaging cameras will also be additionally installed at protective institutions such as juvenile detention centers and treatment custody facilities, and will be deployed at 46 correctional institutions including Anyang Prison. All visitors and new entrants to the facilities must have their body temperature measured through the thermal imaging cameras.
