Busan Jungang Library Opens 2020 Lifelong Learning Programs
Operating 3 Programs on Reading and Humanities Themes Starting from the 8th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jonghyo] The Busan Metropolitan City Central Library will operate the '2020 Library Lifelong Learning Program' from February 8 to March 7 in the Central Library Lifelong Education Training Room.
This year, three programs themed around reading and humanities will be offered: 'Reading Books Starting with Short Stories,' 'Guidance for Children's Reading,' and 'Saturday Humanities Invitation Lecture.'
'Reading Books Starting with Short Stories' will be held every Saturday at 10 a.m. from February 8 to 29. Novelist Lee Jeongim, who won the Busan Writers Award in 2017, will lead the program, where participants will read a total of eight short stories over four sessions and discuss the characters and stories in the novels.
'Guidance for Children's Reading' will be held at 10 a.m. on February 11 and 18 for parents of young children and lower elementary grades (1st-2nd grade), and at 10 a.m. on February 15 and 22 for parents of upper elementary grades (3rd-4th grade). The instructor will give lectures focusing on methods to stimulate interest in reading and bring children closer to books, as well as discussion-based reading guidance methods to enhance logical thinking skills.
'Saturday Humanities Invitation Lecture' will be held every Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from February 15 to March 7, in cooperation with the humanities learning community Inmunhakdang 'Dalli,' located near the Central Library.
