Yongin City Conducts 'Comprehensive Survey' on SMEs Affected by Novel Coronavirus
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will conduct a full survey on the damage situation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the area related to the novel coronavirus infection crisis.
Yongin City announced on the 4th that it will prioritize investigating SMEs that export to China or operate branches and factories locally, and provide customized support according to the scale of damage until the crisis ends.
To this end, the city has established an online window at the Enterprise SOS Support Center (www.giupsos.or.kr), and offline windows at the city’s Enterprise Support Division, Yongin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Yongin Digital Industry Promotion Agency.
The city will provide special guarantee support for SME operating funds for up to three years through the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation to companies that have suffered damage. In addition, if the affected companies receive loans from contracted financial institutions, the city will support part of the loan interest up to 300 million KRW per company. Furthermore, companies facing blocked sales channels will be given priority opportunities to participate in domestic and international exhibitions and overseas market development delegations.
A city official emphasized, "We have established emergency measures to minimize the damage to local SMEs caused by the novel coronavirus," and added, "We will continue to provide customized support to help SMEs with a high export ratio."
