Innisfree Introduces Its Iconic Character 'Inirang'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Natural cosmetics brand Innisfree unveiled the 'Inirang' character on the 4th, which conveys the brand philosophy and Jeju story.
Inirang will serve as a messenger to more familiarly communicate the values pursued by the brand and Jeju heritage to customers in celebration of the brand's 20th anniversary.
Inirang symbolizes Innisfree's customers as a bold pony who leaves the village to wander Jeju in search of their own individuality and beauty, enjoying new experiences. Inspired by the pony, one of Jeju's representative animals, Inirang adds cuteness with a point of having hands and feet dyed yellow from liking tangerines more than carrots.
‘Fruity,’ who accompanies the journey, is a researcher searching for eco-friendly ingredients and represents Innisfree. Fruity is shaped like the green tea seed, a representative Jeju ingredient, and its name is derived from 'Pureuncha,' the Jeju dialect for green tea.
The camellia flower character ‘Cameli’ is a native Jeju resident born and raised in Camellia Village, who learned about Jeju’s nature. With an outstanding ability to find direction by turning camellia petals that look like a mane like a steering wheel, Cameli acts as the navigation for the three characters’ Jeju wanderings.
An Innisfree official said, “In celebration of the brand’s 20th anniversary and expansion into the global market, we introduced the Inirang character to deliver the brand story more familiarly. The growth stories of the three characters, reflecting the values of millennials, Innisfree, and Jeju respectively, will be available at Innisfree stores through various promotional materials and goods.”
