Hubei Province Reports 64 New Deaths from Novel Coronavirus in One Day (Update)
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] In Hubei Province, China, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia), 64 deaths were reported in a single day.
On the 4th, the Hubei Provincial Health Commission (Weiguanwei) announced that as of midnight, 2,345 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus were added within Hubei Province. The number of additional deaths was 64. Among them, 48 deaths were newly reported in Wuhan City alone.
The cumulative total of confirmed cases in Hubei Province reached 13,522. More than half, 6,384 patients, are from Wuhan City. The cumulative death toll recorded 414, with 313 of those deaths occurring in Wuhan City.

Currently, 10,990 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals in Hubei Province. Among them, 1,567 are in severe condition, and 576 are in critical condition, indicating a high possibility of further increases in the death toll. The number of close contacts with patients is 68,988, of which 58,544 are under medical observation.
