Jeonnam 'Love Temperature Tower' Reaches 100.9℃
Raised 9.9518 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The mercury in Jeonnam's 'Love Temperature Tower' has exceeded 100℃.
According to the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Nodongil) on the 3rd, a total of 9.9518 billion KRW was raised in donations for the year-end and New Year neighbor-helping fundraising campaign 'Hope 2020 Sharing Campaign,' achieving a final temperature of 100.9℃.
The campaign was conducted for 73 days from November 20 last year to the 31st of last month under the slogan 'Happy Jeonnam through Sharing.'
Since its establishment in 1998, the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea started with the first neighbor-love campaign raising 1.228 billion KRW and has now achieved the highest year-end campaign fundraising amount ever, ushering in the era of 10 billion KRW fundraising in Jeonnam.
On this day, the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea held a closing ceremony at Okam-dong Intersection in Mokpo City to conclude the 'Hope 2020 Sharing Campaign.'
This sharing campaign was accompanied by many beautiful donation stories.
There were people who collected 10,000 empty bottles by traveling around every corner of the region for a year and donated all the proceeds, those who donated all the proceeds from talent performances, and elderly members of the Jeonnam Federation of the Korea Senior Citizens Association who saved money in piggy banks every year to donate to seniors more in need than themselves.
Also, there were many organizations that donated funds for neighbors in need in the region, including those who donated all the proceeds from operating booths at the temperature tower unveiling ceremony, and children from local child centers who had only received help but participated in sharing to help children in more difficult situations.
Starting with the first donation of 300 million KRW from Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power at the campaign launch ceremony held on November 20 last year, corporate participation followed in succession.
Nodongil, Chairman of the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea, said, "We were worried due to the prolonged economic downturn, but thanks to the residents, companies, and organizations throughout Jeonnam who did not forget the neighbors in need and participated, we were able to achieve the fundraising goal," adding, "All the donated funds will be carefully delivered to the marginalized and needy neighbors in the Jeonnam region."
The raised funds will be provided to individuals and social welfare facilities, institutions, and organizations in the Jeonnam region that require social welfare services.
