On the 3rd, Hyundai announced that it had signed a contract to supply 1,000 units of the new Sonata as airport taxis to Al Safwas, one of the largest transportation companies in Saudi Arabia.
On the 22nd of last month, Hyundai delivered 100 units of the new Sonata to Al Safwas at King Khalid International Airport, attended by Saudi Arabia's Minister of Transport Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, and plans to supply the remaining 900 units within this year.
This order is particularly meaningful as Hyundai is the first completed car manufacturer to supply taxis that comply with the newly announced regulations for taxis operating in Saudi Arabia.
Last year, Hyundai sold a total of 125,625 vehicles including Sonata, Kona, and Santa Fe in Saudi Arabia, securing a solid market share of 23.4%.

Hyundai plans to use this order contract as a turning point to expand sales and actively enhance brand awareness in the Middle East region.
