Hubei Province Reports 56 Deaths and 2,103 New Confirmed Cases in One Day (Update)
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] In Hubei Province, China, the number of deaths due to the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia) increased by 56 in one day. This is the first time that the number of deaths in one region has increased by more than 50 in a single day.
On the 3rd, the Hubei Provincial Health Commission (Weiguanwei) announced that as of midnight, there were 2,103 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus and 56 additional deaths. Among the 56 new deaths, 41 occurred in Wuhan City.
The cumulative total of confirmed cases in Hubei Province has reached 11,177. The cumulative number of deaths has also been recorded at 350.
Currently, 9,618 patients are receiving hospital treatment, of whom 1,223 are in severe condition and 478 are critically severe, indicating a high possibility of further increases in deaths.
