Guro-gu Completes Signboard Improvement in Gurojungang-ro Area
Guro Machine Tool Market and 176 Stores in Guro Station Area Replaced with Energy-Efficient LED Lighting
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) has completed the signboard improvement project in the Gurojungang-ro area.
Guro-gu announced on the 3rd that it recently completed the improvement project for signboards along Gyeongin-ro, adjacent to Guro Machinery Tool Market and Guro Station, to ensure pedestrian safety and create a pleasant urban landscape.
This signboard improvement project was carried out targeting 176 stores in 8 buildings in the commercial areas of Guro Machinery Tool Market (Gurojungang-ro 197, 198) and the Guro Station area (Gyeongin-ro 557, 565).
Guro-gu invested a total budget of 343 million KRW, providing up to 2 million KRW per store for signboard production and installation costs.
The new signboards were made as LED wall-mounted signs that comply with permit standards and have high energy efficiency. Additionally, 109 unsafe signboards, such as ownerless signs and protruding signs, were removed.
Since 2008, starting with the Guro Digital Complex area, Guro-gu has been steadily carrying out signboard maintenance projects along major roads. By organizing indiscriminately scattered outdoor advertisements, visibility of signboards has been improved, and replacement costs have been supported for small business owners to reduce their economic burden.
