Jin Joong-kwon: "The first target of the Corruption Investigation Office will be Yoon Seok-yeol... Do not vote for the Democratic Party"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized President Moon Jae-in's remark that "the past prosecution could not correct its own mistakes, so the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Office (Gongu-cheo) is very meaningful," asking, "What exactly is the 'mistake' that the prosecution cannot correct by itself?"
On the 31st, Jin wrote on his Facebook, "They defined the investigation into the Cho Kuk family as a 'human rights violation.' Prosecuting Jung Kyung-shim was defined as a 'challenge to the president's personnel authority,' and prosecuting Cho Kuk was defined as 'retaliation against reform.' Lim Jong-seok even threatened, saying 'If the charges are not proven, you will have to take responsibility,'" he said.
He added, "The answer lies with the Gongu-cheo. What will happen once the Gongu-cheo is established?" and pointed out, "Probably, pro-government prosecutors and ambitious political prosecutors will line up to apply. Because if they do a favor for power, they will immediately get a nomination."
He continued, "I don't understand why people think the Gongu-cheo won't make deals with the regime. Who watches the watchers? Even if they try to be neutral, they can't touch the living power anyway," and criticized, "Even the prosecution, which has the world's strongest power, will have their necks cut off by mere Blue House secretaries. What power does the Gongu-cheo have to withstand external pressure from the regime and its supporters?"

What did the prosecution do wrong?" and strongly criticized, "They say the chief prosecutor engaged in political acts and interfered in elections, abusing prosecutorial power extensively. If you listen to this, you might think the prosecution committed treason like Chun Doo-hwan or Roh Tae-woo."
He added, "Hwang Un-ha said, 'Regarding this matter, once the Gongu-cheo is launched, shouldn't we accuse the prosecution of violating the Public Official Election Act?' This was already said by Choi Kang-wook. He openly stated, 'Once the Gongu-cheo is established, it will investigate Yoon Seok-yeol,'" he revealed.
He then said, "It's probably not just empty words. Lim Jong-seok appeared before the prosecution and revived the now-defunct photo line. Trying to portray his appearance as that of a democratization activist during the dictatorship era, he needed the photo line again as a kind of stage," and criticized, "These people even consider committing corruption as democratization movements."
Jin strongly criticized, "If they win the election, the Democratic Party will loudly proclaim it as 'the people's victory against prosecutorial abuse.' The various corruptions committed by the regime's key figures will be treated as if they never happened, as if it was just a political prosecution's adventure."
He continued, "If the election results in a landslide victory for the Democratic Party, they will start retaliating against the prosecution using the Gongu-cheo. Who will be the first target? As Choi Kang-wook already leaked, it will be Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol," he claimed.

Finally, he said, "You must never vote for the Democratic Party in this general election," adding, "A vote for the Democratic Party will be a pardon for all the various corruptions committed by the regime's key figures, including document forgery, disguised investment, evidence destruction, real estate speculation, bribery, suppression of inspection, and election interference."
