Incheon Michuhol Police Station announced on the 31st that a 17-year-old high school student A, who had undergone ankle bone fixation surgery at a general hospital in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, died around 4:50 PM on the 28th.
According to the police, A had undergone surgery for about two hours that morning and was recovering in a general ward.
However, A's blood potassium levels suddenly rose, and he was transferred to the intensive care unit but ultimately passed away.
After receiving a report from the hospital, the police arrived at the scene and sent A's body to the National Forensic Service for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
