Condemnation of Political Power's Criminal Acts? Play 'Wanted Woo Chun-geun'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The play "Wanted Woo Chun-geun," which deals with the punishment of political power crimes, will be performed from the 5th to the 16th of next month at the Areumdawoon Theater in Daehak-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Woo Chun-geun, the former Blue House Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs, who became the target of social condemnation as a key figure in the national scandal, suddenly disappears one day. Enraged citizens raise funds through crowdfunding and put a bounty on "his head." This means that an unspecified number of people pool money little by little to commission a contract killing from an unspecified number of people.

This is a work by the project group Gongsangmoim Jaksim (作心)365, formed by male and female actors in their 40s. Jaksim365 explained, "The absurd premise of 'raising money through crowdfunding to commission an indefinite contract killing to an unspecified number of people' is a comedic expression of the common people's 'grudge' about this. The reason we could not use the word 'anger' instead of 'grudge' is because we ourselves are the ones who created such a history. It is because the life of ordinary citizens who conformed to vested interests is shameful to loudly express anger."
