11 Confirmed Cases of Novel Coronavirus... "3rd Generation Infection Suspected" (2nd Report)
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] The eighth confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia) in South Korea has been reported. Among the contacts of existing patients, some tested positive, increasing the total number of confirmed cases to 11 as of 2 p.m. today.
On the 31st, the Central Disease Control Headquarters of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that a 62-year-old Korean woman who returned to Incheon Airport on the 23rd was confirmed as the eighth patient. She entered the country via Qingdao from Wuhan. She is currently isolated at Wonkwang University Hospital, a nationally designated inpatient treatment facility.
Additionally, one contact of an acquaintance of the fifth patient, a 33-year-old Korean man, tested positive. Among the contacts of the sixth patient, two family members tested positive. The sixth patient was infected by the third patient, marking a third-generation infection after one more transmission.
