Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju to Renovate Ownerless Old Signboards
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Dong-han] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Sam-ho) announced on the 31st that it will begin maintenance of ownerless old signs that have been neglected for a long time, threatening citizens' safety and damaging the urban landscape.
To this end, the district plans to conduct a full on-site survey of old signs next month and accept maintenance applications from building owners and others.
Maintenance targets will be finalized considering the degree of aging and risk, and maintenance is scheduled to be completed by May.
Along with the full survey, voluntary removal of old signs with owners will be encouraged, and ownerless signs will be maintained with the consent of building owners or managers.
The main maintenance targets are ▲ signs left unattended for a long time due to business closure or relocation ▲ signs that are severely aged and pose a high risk of accidents in the event of natural disasters.
