Samsung Electronics Donates 800 Million KRW to Australia Affected by Large Wildfires
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Samsung Electronics has donated 1 million Australian dollars (approximately 800 million KRW) to support Australian communities severely affected by large wildfires.
The donation from Samsung Electronics will be delivered to fire stations in New South Wales and used for recovery efforts in wildfire-affected areas and support for disaster victims.
Samsung Electronics plans to continue exploring ways to contribute to Australia, which has suffered natural disaster damage caused by climate and environmental changes, by utilizing its products and technology.
Samsung Electronics has supported disaster recovery by providing cash donations, home appliances, relief supplies, and free appliance services whenever large-scale natural disasters occur domestically and internationally.

Samsung has previously supported disaster-affected areas such as the 2008 and 2013 Sichuan earthquake in China, donated 500,000 dollars for the 2015 Nepal earthquake recovery, 20 million pesos (approximately 1.2 billion KRW) for the 2017 Mexico earthquake, and 600,000 dollars for the severe earthquake in Indonesia in November 2018.
