Actor Kim Nam-gil spoke about his changed attitude toward acting.
On the afternoon of the 30th, Kim Nam-gil shared various stories about the movie "Closet" (director Kim Kwang-bin) during an interview at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
That day, Kim Nam-gil laughed and said, "I have never tried to chase wealth. Adults say that if you work hard at the given tasks, wealth will naturally follow. But it didn’t."
Kim Nam-gil said, "Sometimes when things are tough, other thoughts come to mind, but I try to think positively. It always serves as a good stimulus so I don’t become lazy."
He added, "I lived without taking care of myself. But no one held my hand."
Also, Kim Nam-gil said his mindset toward acting has changed. He said, "I want to live satisfied with being able to work without being greedy. The current work could always be the last."
He continued, "Suddenly, the situation might change and I might not be able to work. I have acted all my life, but I worry about what I would do if I suddenly couldn’t act."
Regarding winning the 2019 SBS Drama Awards, Kim Nam-gil said, "Nothing has changed. It’s the same as before. When good things happen, I try hard to stay composed. It’s the same when bad things happen. There’s nothing special. I always keep myself in check and act."
"Closet" is a mystery story about a father who searches for his daughter who disappeared without a trace after moving into a new house, and a mysterious man who knows the secret of the incident appears.
Kim Nam-gil plays Kyung-hoon, a mysterious man who knows the secret of the children disappearing inside the house, in front of Sang-won (played by Ha Jung-woo), who desperately searches for his daughter. The movie opens on February 5.
