"Let's Bet on Who Drinks More"... 50s Man Who Made Drinking Bet Dies
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Two men in their 50s lost consciousness and collapsed while drinking competitively at a pub in Incheon, resulting in one death.
According to the Namdong Police Station in Incheon on the 30th, a report was received by 119 around 2:20 a.m. the previous day that A (54) and B (54) were found collapsed at a pub in Ganseok-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, both men were unconscious, and A was reported to be in cardiac arrest.
A was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but passed away, while B regained consciousness and is receiving treatment.
During the police investigation, B stated, "We were drinking while competing to see who could handle alcohol better, but suddenly I lost consciousness."
They had already been intoxicated when they visited the pub and were confirmed to have collapsed after drinking six more bottles of soju there.
