Jungnang-gu Enables Large Household Waste Disposal Applications via Smartphone
Easy Access to Internet Reporting Center via Smartphone for Large Household Waste Disposal Application... After Reporting, Write the Receipt Number on the Waste and Place It at the Designated Location the Day Before Collection
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has improved its cleaning administration system to allow residents to easily apply for the disposal of large household waste using their smartphones.
The district has established an internet and mobile disposal application system for large household waste, which has been in operation since January this year, to resolve residents' inconveniences from reporting to disposal and to simplify the waste disposal process.
From now on, when disposing of large household waste such as furniture, home appliances, bicycles, electric mats, and travel bags, residents can apply for disposal and pay fees at the 'Jungnang-gu Large Household Waste Internet Reporting Center (www.the-cleanjungnang.com or www.the-cleanjungnang.co.kr)'.
The disposal application process requires entering the disposer’s name and contact information, disposal location, disposal items, and disposal date. After submitting the disposal report and paying the fee, the applicant will automatically receive a text message with the report details and receipt number. The receipt number should be written on the large household waste, which must be placed at the designated location the day before the collection date for verification and collection.
Previously, applications were made by phone or by accessing a PC to pay via bank transfer and printing a disposal certificate to attach to the waste, which was inconvenient. This new system is expected to significantly alleviate those issues.
Additionally, small electronic appliances such as computers and microwaves can now be applied for disposal via PC and smartphones. Reflecting residents’ feedback about inconvenience due to missing item categories, the list of disposable items has been expanded to include items like baby mats.
The number of large household waste disposals in Jungnang-gu was 126,623 in 2017, 152,195 in 2018, and increased continuously to 1,999,812 last year.
Accordingly, continuous efforts are needed to ensure that large household waste disposal is convenient and smooth.
An official from the district said, "The fees for disposable items can be checked on the related smartphone application," and added, "Please be careful as items without a receipt number, unreported items, or items different from those reported will not be collected."
