Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters Conducts Joint 'Winter Water Rescue' Drill in Yangpyeong
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters conducted a joint winter water rescue training.
On the 29th, the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters announced on the 30th that to strengthen the response capability to water-related accidents during the severe cold season, a total of 60 rescue team members participated in the joint winter water rescue training at Gwangtan-ri Recreation Area in Yongmun-ri, Yangpyeong-gun, including 14 members of the Gyeonggi-do Special Response Team and 46 rescue personnel from seven fire stations (Seongnam, Bundang, Hanam, Gwangju, Yeoju, Yangpyeong, and Icheon).
On that day, a total of five firefighting equipment including one firefighting helicopter and four firefighting vehicles, as well as diving equipment sets, were deployed. The training was divided into ▲ emergency rescue diving procedures training (diving under ice and search/rescue/lifting/contaminant removal) ▲ water rescue training using ice equipment in preparation for the thawing season ▲ and life rescue training using a firefighting helicopter.
