Energy & Fine Dust, Odor & Living Environment, Green City Practice Subcommittees Develop Solutions... Recruiting 15 Resident Members Until Feb 14 via Email and In-Person Applications
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chaehyun Il) is taking the lead in environmental protection by forming the 'Green Yeongdeungpo Environmental Governance,' bringing together civilians, government officials, and experts, and is recruiting 15 resident committee members until February 14.
The district aims to establish policies that can be implemented at the basic local government level in line with international efforts for environmental protection, providing a proper direction.
The Green Yeongdeungpo Environmental Governance consists of three working subcommittees: △ Energy and Fine Dust Subcommittee △ Odor and Living Environment Subcommittee △ Green City Lifestyle Practice Subcommittee, where about 50 members collaborate to devise environmental conservation measures.
The committee is composed of 45 appointed members and 5 ex officio members. The appointed members include 30 experts from environmental organizations, academia, and businesses, as well as 15 local residents, while the ex officio members consist of the district mayor, the Director of the Living Environment Bureau, and managers in environmental-related fields.
Residents will propose ideas to solve environmental issues closely related to daily life, and experts will provide reasonable alternatives with a future-oriented perspective.
Additionally, a Planning and Coordination Committee will be operated to adjust and negotiate resolutions, reflecting the opinions of residents and experts in policies and systematically establishing a 'civil-government environmental problem-solving response system.'
The Green Yeongdeungpo Environmental Governance is recruiting a total of 15 resident committee members, 5 from each subcommittee. Anyone who is a resident of Yeongdeungpo-gu interested in the environment or affiliated with institutions or businesses in the area can apply.
Applicants can download the application form from the district website (www.ydp.go.kr), fill it out, and submit it by 6 p.m. on February 14 via email (hyunbw@ydp.go.kr) or by visiting the Environment Division in person.
