[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, has urged to do their best in the quarantine measures against the "Novel Coronavirus Infection (Wuhan Pneumonia)".
On the 29th, at the Gwangju city executive meeting, Mayor Lee stated, "The novel coronavirus infection, Wuhan Pneumonia, which started in China at the end of last year, is spreading worldwide. As of the 28th, four confirmed cases have been reported domestically, and although there are no confirmed cases in our city yet, two people are under active monitoring, so we cannot afford to lower our guard."
He continued, "Above all, please prioritize the health and safety of citizens and make every effort to operate a preemptive and active quarantine network to prevent Wuhan Pneumonia from spreading in the local community."
He also said, "When suspected patients are found, measures such as reporting, testing, isolation, and contact management should be carried out promptly according to the response manual," and urged, "Please strengthen the 24-hour continuous response system in close cooperation with district health centers, the education office, and local medical facilities."
