[Samsung Electro-Mechanics Concall] "Expecting 10% Sales Growth in Q1 Compared to Previous Quarter" (Summary)
“5G Deployment Centered on China and US Markets to Accelerate, Expected to Be an Opportunity Factor”
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Samsung Electro-Mechanics stated on the 29th during the conference call following the announcement of the fourth quarter results of last year, "Due to the flagship model launches by key clients, sales in the first quarter of this year are expected to grow by 10% compared to the previous quarter."
They added, "Although external uncertainties such as the emerging Middle East crisis and the spread of the coronavirus are increasing, the component industry market conditions, including the expansion of the 5G smartphone market, are expected to recover somewhat compared to last year."
Furthermore, they noted, "As 5G adoption accelerates mainly in the Greater China and Americas markets, demand for ultra-thin, high-capacity MLCCs (Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors) is expected to increase," and added, "Since only a limited number of companies, including Samsung Electro-Mechanics, can meet this demand, this will be an opportunity factor for Samsung Electro-Mechanics."
