Jeonnam Province Holds Emergency Meeting to Respond to Novel Coronavirus
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province held an emergency countermeasure meeting with related organizations to prevent the inflow and strengthen the response within the province as it raised the crisis alert level for the 'Novel Coronavirus Infectious Disease' to the 'Warning' stage.
On the 28th, Jeonnam Province announced that it expanded the 'Novel Coronavirus Infectious Disease Prevention Countermeasures Headquarters,' led by Vice Governor Park Byung-ho, to include 6 teams with 37 members and 16 cooperating departments.
Vice Governor Park urged, "Please thoroughly ensure collaborative response among related organizations and strengthen quarantine capabilities," and especially requested, "Strengthen full monitoring of arrivals from China at Muan Airport and monitoring of medical institutions."
He also ordered, "Designate screening clinics at 51 public health centers and medical institutions in cities and counties, conduct frequent inspections of their operation status, and do your best to prevent community spread by promoting medical institution response measures when suspected patients are found."

To prevent infectious diseases, the province advised following behavioral rules such as proper handwashing and covering the mouth and nose with sleeves when coughing, and instructed that if symptoms such as fever and respiratory issues suspected of infection occur after visiting China, people should report to the Disease Control Headquarters call center (1339) or the city/county public health center before visiting a medical institution.
