Jangheung-gun Enters Emergency Mode to Block New Coronavirus Influx

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jeonnam Jangheung-gun announced on the 28th that County Governor Jeong Jong-sun instructed an all-out response to block the inflow of the novel coronavirus through consecutive emergency countermeasure meetings on the 27th and 28th.
On the evening of the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, the 27th, at 8:30 PM, Governor Jeong presided over an emergency countermeasure meeting at the Jangheung-gun Quarantine Countermeasure Situation Room, received a report on the novel coronavirus response situation, and began preparing corresponding countermeasures.
Governor Jeong ordered the full mobilization of disease control, quarantine, and disaster safety infrastructure, and urged efforts to strengthen communication such as education and publicity targeting local residents.
On the 27th, Jangheung-gun raised the infectious disease crisis alert level from ‘Caution’ to ‘Warning’ and shifted the operation of the quarantine countermeasure team from the head of the public health center to the vice county governor system. On the 28th, an expanded emergency countermeasure meeting was held with all heads of departments and offices in Jangheung-gun attending.
Governor Jeong presided over the expanded emergency countermeasure meeting and checked the duties and roles of each department according to the infectious disease management action guidelines.
In response to the emergency situation, he prioritized budget support for purchasing quarantine supplies such as air tents for screening clinics and preventive items, additionally secured resident quarantine supplies such as masks and alcohol wipes, and instructed that hand sanitizers be placed in government office civil service rooms.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of resident prevention guidelines to block the inflow of the novel coronavirus and related publicity activities, instructed to verify the records of Chinese nationals currently staying in Jangheung-gun regarding visits to their home country, and to be vigilant and observe for any symptoms of infectious disease.
He also recommended that local residents refrain from group gatherings and avoid traveling to China.
Governor Jeong Jong-sun said, “I hope all residents share information on infectious disease prevention activities and respond actively,” and added, “We will devote all efforts to blocking the inflow of infectious diseases to protect the lives and property of our residents.”

Meanwhile, Governor Jeong Jong-sun canceled the overseas business trip schedule (benchmarking clean coastal preservation and development) hosted by the Deukryangman Gangjinman Area Administrative Council, which was to start on January 29, to manage the novel coronavirus quarantine countermeasures.
