Seoul City 'Wuhan Pneumonia' Disaster Alert "Wear Masks and Wash Hands"
Amid the occurrence of the fourth confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection known as 'Wuhan pneumonia' in South Korea, visitors wearing masks are seen at Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul on the afternoon of the 27th.
On the evening of the 27th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government sent disaster text messages to citizens, recommending wearing masks and washing hands.
In the text message, Seoul stated, "To prevent the novel coronavirus, please follow the guidelines such as wearing masks and washing hands, and if you have a fever or respiratory symptoms, please contact 1339 or your local health center."
About 10 minutes before sending the message, Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon announced the plan on his Facebook account, explaining, "Since it is the time when the holiday season ends and people return to their daily lives, this is to encourage each citizen to actively engage in infection prevention."
Mayor Park said, "Starting tomorrow, Seoul will immediately distribute masks and sanitizers to vulnerable groups such as the elderly, and workers who have frequent contact with citizens, including those on subways and buses."
