Bank of Korea Holds Financial and Economic Situation Review Meeting Today... Assessing Impact of Wuhan Pneumonia
On the 27th at 2 p.m., the Bank of Korea will hold a financial and economic situation review meeting chaired by Governor Lee Ju-yeol. The meeting was originally scheduled for the following morning but was moved up by one day.
During the meeting, the impact of the novel coronavirus (Wuhan pneumonia) infection spread on the financial market during the holiday period will be assessed. The Bank of Korea has been monitoring international financial markets and Korea-related indicators 24 hours a day through its foreign exchange operation center and overseas offices located in major financial hubs such as New York and London during this period.

Wuhan pneumonia is rapidly spreading worldwide. China announced that the number of confirmed cases reached 2,744 on this day. Two additional confirmed cases were reported in Los Angeles County and Arizona in the United States.
