[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 26th that it will recruit a citizen monitoring group to evaluate the service status of public transportation such as city buses and taxis.
The citizen monitoring group evaluates the service status of city buses and taxis from the perspective of citizens using public transportation, and is responsible for regularly inspecting transportation-related facilities such as bus and taxi stops, bus operation systems, and transportation convenience facilities, and delivering citizens' opinions to Gwangju City so that they can be promptly reflected in transportation administration.
In particular, this year, the city plans to recruit about 300 people, an increase of about 100 from last year.
The recruitment period is until the 16th of next month, and a certain amount of expenses will be provided based on activity performance.
Any citizen who wishes to participate in the citizen monitoring group can apply by email or mail by referring to the announcement on the city’s website.
The city will select monitoring personnel next month, assign appropriate personnel by route, and from March to December, collect opinions from the monitoring group to use as evaluation data for improving public transportation services and for differential support of performance profits for city bus transportation companies.
