[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will host Jungnang Masil on the 31st at 3 p.m. at the ‘Aishinna Joint Childcare Room,’ inviting parents of infants and toddlers to create a happier childcare environment for both parents and children.

Jungnang Masil is a representative on-site communication administration that started in October 2018 and has continued for three years this year. Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi visits places with local issues or citizen inconveniences to listen to various opinions from residents and reflect them in policies.

The first Jungnang Masil of 2020 is held to commemorate the opening of ‘Aishinna Joint Childcare Room,’ the 12th joint childcare room in Jungnang-gu, which opened on the 7th, and to hear the opinions of parents of infants and toddlers, the main users of childcare support projects conducted by the district.

The joint childcare room is a play space where parents can share information about childcare and play with their children. Last year, it grew into a representative childcare support project of Jungnang-gu with about 60,000 users.

Also, the district operates three toy libraries to reduce the economic burden on families with infants and toddlers.

In addition, various childcare support projects are being carried out, such as the 'Chat-tori' (Visiting Toy Bundle) service that delivers heavy toys to homes, Jungnang-style school commuting helper support projects, and part-time childcare room operation.

As efforts to make Jungnang a better place to raise children accelerate, this Jungnang Masil will listen candidly to voices from the field to prepare childcare policies that satisfy both children and parents and strengthen the substance of existing projects.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “As all answers lie in the field, to implement childcare support policies, we must listen to the stories of families raising children. We will promote administration that can understand parents’ hearts and work harder to make Jungnang-gu a better environment for raising children.”
