Police Forward Former LG Pitcher Ryu Je-guk on Suspicion of Sexual Violence and Obscene Material Distribution with Recommendation for Prosecution
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Ryu Je-guk (37), a former LG Twins pitcher accused of sexual violence and distributing obscene materials, has been handed over to the prosecution.
According to the police on the 23rd, the Seoul Seongdong Police Station sent Ryu to the prosecution last week with a recommendation for indictment on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.
Ryu was sued by multiple women and investigated by the police after suddenly announcing his retirement in August last year.
He is also accused of distributing obscene materials and threatening. The police reportedly conducted digital forensics on Ryu's mobile phone.
