[Asia Economy Reporter Seol Gina Jo] On the afternoon of the 23rd, Jang Seok-young, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, visited the CMES Seoul Research Institute to encourage researchers who are dedicated to developing 5G smart factory technologies ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. CMES is a company that develops 5G solution technologies such as 3D sensors and 3D scanners.
According to the Ministry of Science and ICT, Vice Minister Jang conducted a mid-term review of the achievements of the 5G smart factory demonstration project through technology demonstrations such as moving objects using robots equipped with 3D cameras and remote on-site maintenance using augmented reality (AR). He also held a meeting with researchers and other stakeholders involved in the 5G smart factory to listen to on-site difficulties.
