Hospital, Pharmacy, and Transportation Information National Call '110' Operates 24 Hours Normally During Seollal Holiday
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The National Call 110 (Government Civil Service Information) will operate normally during the Lunar New Year holiday. Information on hospitals, pharmacies, and traffic conditions can be accessed 24 hours a day at any time.
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission announced that National Call 110 will operate normally from tomorrow until the 27th.
By dialing 110 without an area code from anywhere nationwide, you can receive information on traffic such as congested sections on expressways and national roads, extended public transportation hours, as well as medical information including hospitals available for treatment and duty pharmacies.
It is also possible to inquire about illegal parking enforcement, report traffic inconveniences, general consultations related to administrative agency tasks, and various non-emergency reports and consultations such as electricity and water outages and school violence.
The Commission will deploy 86 daytime counselors and 45 nighttime counselors during the Lunar New Year holiday to provide consultations. They prepare for normal operation during the holiday by analyzing major frequent consultation cases.
In addition to phone consultations, services such as KakaoTalk Plus Friend 'Gukmintok110' consultations, text consultations via mobile websites, video sign language consultations and online chat for the hearing impaired, and real-time consultations through social networking services are also provided.
National Call 110 handled 3.14 million consultations and guidance last year. To provide more convenient services to the public, services such as KakaoTalk and consultation for abuse of power have been continuously expanded. Since October last year, it has been converted to a free call service to reduce the burden on citizens.
Hwang Hoyoon, head of the Government Joint Civil Service Center at the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, said, "National Call 110 is the government's representative consultation service used by more than about 3 million people annually," adding, "Since it operates 24 hours normally even during the holidays, citizens can comfortably use it anytime when they want to inquire or report related matters."
