The Gwangju Western Police Station announced on the 22nd that they arrested A (38) on charges of using methamphetamine (violation of the Narcotics Control Act).
A is suspected of using methamphetamine at his apartment in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, around 7:40 a.m. on the 20th.
A reported to the police after discovering that his cohabiting girlfriend had taken an extreme measure.
However, when he showed suspicious behavior such as inconsistent and incoherent statements, the police searched the house and found methamphetamine. A simple drug test confirmed the use of methamphetamine.
Investigations revealed that A had a prior record of drug use.
It is believed that there is no direct connection between the drug use and the death of the cohabiting girlfriend.
