Honam University Freezes Tuition Fees and Lowers Admission Fees for 2020 Academic Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Honam University (President Park Sangcheol) will freeze tuition fees by department and reduce the admission fee by 20% for the 2020 academic year as well.
Honam University announced on the 21st that it held a tuition review committee meeting and decided to freeze tuition fees by department again this year and further reduce the freshman admission fee by 20% for the third consecutive year.
Honam University has been lowering or freezing tuition fees for nine years since 2012.
The admission fee has been gradually reduced by 20% each year from the 2018 academic year, starting with a 20% reduction, and will continue to be reduced by 20% annually until 2021 to ease the financial burden on students and parents.

President Park Sangcheol said, “Although difficulties in university financial management are expected due to the long-term continued reduction and freezing of tuition fees by department, we will overcome them through efficient budget execution, expansion of government financial support projects, and activation of university development funds,” adding, “We will continuously expand the scholarship system.”
