Songpa-gu Establishes Comprehensive Living-Oriented Lunar New Year Holiday Measures
Operation of Comprehensive Situation Room from 24th to 27th... Duty hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies, garbage disposal guidance, free parking lot access to ensure no inconvenience in medical care, cleaning, transportation, and safety
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is implementing comprehensive measures by sector to minimize inconvenience to residents ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to the district, a day and night comprehensive situation room (☎2147-2200) will be operated from the 24th to the 27th. A special duty force of 186 personnel has been organized to establish an emergency response system in each field, including ▲health and medical care ▲cleaning ▲traffic order maintenance ▲accident prevention.
First, the Songpa-gu Public Health Center will operate an emergency medical response situation room maintaining 24-hour functionality to assist with medical treatment and provide information on on-duty medical institutions and pharmacies. During the holiday period, 203 hospitals and clinics and 235 holiday-duty pharmacies in the area will be open in preparation for emergency patients.
Also, to maintain a pleasant environment, major roads in the area where homecoming and returning vehicles concentrate, such as Tancheon Embankment Road, Bokjeong Station, and Jamsil Sports Complex, will be intensively cleaned. Each neighborhood will also conduct large-scale cleanups of vulnerable areas together with resident organizations and volunteer groups to maintain urban cleanliness.
The district requests residents to refrain from disposing of garbage on the 24th and 25th during the holiday period as garbage collection will not take place, and plans to strengthen patrols by mobile teams in vulnerable areas prone to illegal dumping such as multi-use facilities and parks.
Furthermore, an illegal parking prevention task force will be activated to focus enforcement around subway stations, bus stops, and large supermarkets.
Additionally, seven public parking lots and 19 school parking facilities will be opened free of charge to minimize parking inconveniences.
In preparation for various disasters and safety accidents such as cold waves, heavy snowfall, and fires, pre-inspections have been strengthened. Not only have nine large construction sites in the area been inspected, but infrastructure such as parks, gas, roads, and traffic facilities will also be thoroughly checked.
Support for the safety and warmth of vulnerable groups during the holiday will not be spared. Through patrols, the health of homeless people will be monitored, and hot packs, snacks, and travel expenses for returning home will be provided. In preparation for disasters and emergencies, a constant communication system with related organizations will be maintained, and relief supplies and temporary housing facilities will be provided in case of disaster victims.
Detailed information by sector, including lists of medical institutions and pharmacies during the holiday period, can be checked on the Songpa-gu website (www.songpa.go.kr) or through the comprehensive situation room (☎2147-2200).
Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “We will carefully examine areas closely related to daily life so that residents do not feel inconvenienced even during the holidays,” and added, “We will do our best to minimize administrative gaps during the holiday period so that all residents can have a safe and enjoyable holiday.”
