According to the Pohang Coast Guard on the 20th, at 8:20 a.m. that day, fishing vessel A, operating a set net about 1 km east of Guman-ri, Homigot-myeon, Nam-gu, Pohang, discovered the dead mink whale while hauling in the net and reported it to the coast guard.

The mink whale measured 3.6 m in length and 1.7 m in girth. The coast guard issued a whale processing certificate, confirming there were no signs of intentional capture using harpoons or spears. The whale was sold at the Guryongpo Fisheries Cooperative for 23 million won.
