Runaway Teen Breaks Jewelry Store Glass with Bricks and Steals Precious Metals
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] Runaway teenagers who broke into a jewelry store in the early morning hours and stole precious metals have been caught by the police.
The Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station urgently arrested four teenagers, including middle school student A, on the 20th on charges of special theft and attempted special theft.
A and others are suspected of breaking the glass of a building with a brick and breaking into a jewelry store in Wolgye-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, around 3:30 a.m. that day, stealing precious metals worth about 72 million won.
It is known that they were caught in the act by police officers and private security company staff who responded after confirming the alarm while stealing the precious metals.
A and others, who had left home and were living together, were investigated to have committed the crime to secure living expenses.
According to the police investigation, it was revealed that they also attempted to break into a nearby jewelry store and steal precious metals on the 18th but failed.
