Unscheduled Inspections as Part of Fire Prevention Measures Ahead of Seollal Holiday
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Moon Gisik) announced on the 19th that it will conduct intensive inspections on multi-use facilities.
This intensive inspection is part of winter fire prevention measures in preparation for the Lunar New Year holiday and will be conducted as unannounced surprise checks.
For 20 locations such as large marts where casualties from fires are a concern, the station plans to focus on illegal acts such as blocking or locking emergency exits to establish a safety culture.
The key inspection items include ▲cutting off power to fire-fighting facilities, silencing alarms (sirens) ▲blocking or locking emergency exits ▲neglecting malfunctioning fire-fighting equipment ▲placing obstacles on evacuation stairs and passageways.
