Gwanak-gu Recruiting Youth Network Members to Develop Youth Policies
Anyone aged 19 to 39 living or active in Gwanak-gu can apply... Leading the establishment of a youth policy governance where young people discover and implement policies themselves
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is recruiting members of the 'Gwanak-gu Youth Network,' who will act as partners in youth policy governance to jointly transform the future of Gwanak, until the 29th.
Members of the Gwanak-gu Youth Network will participate for one year in ▲forming and operating sector-specific committees ▲discovering and proposing policies desired by youth ▲engaging in youth networking activities such as youth policy forums, discussions, and public debates.
Any youth aged 19 to 39 residing or active in Gwanak-gu can apply. A comprehensive evaluation based on voluntariness, relationships, and areas of interest will select the final 30 members on February 3rd.
Youth wishing to participate can find detailed information on the Gwanak-gu Office website (Notices & Announcements) and submit the application form and required documents via email (willsij@ga.go.kr) or in person to the Youth Policy Division, Youth Support Team on the 5th floor of the Gwanak-gu Office Annex.
With a youth population of approximately 200,000 and the highest youth population ratio (40.2%) nationwide, Gwanak-gu has leveraged this characteristic by establishing the Youth Policy Division?the first among Seoul’s autonomous districts?after the launch of the 7th local government administration, significantly expanding the budget for youth policy to create a model youth policy for 226 local governments nationwide.
Through this, Gwanak-gu has been reborn as a youth city by implementing various policies tailored to local characteristics, such as creating the youth cultural space Shillim-dong Three Room in Daehak-dong, the nation’s first youth tenant brokerage fee reduction service, the Sip-si-il-ban youth job project, and youth employment talk concerts.
