Weibo Event Effect... Shinsegae Duty Free Attracts Record Number of Chinese Tourists
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Shinsegae Duty Free announced on the 16th that it successfully concluded the "Unboxing Every Day with Shinsegae" 100-day relay event targeting customers from the Greater China region.
From September 23 to December 31 last year, Shinsegae Duty Free held the first-ever 100-day relay event in the duty-free industry on its official Weibo account. Every day for 100 days, a new brand was introduced, and customers who left comments with their product expectations were entered into a draw to win the best products as prizes.
A total of 6,370,000 customers from the Greater China region participated in the relay event, setting a record for the highest number of participants ever. The event recorded 63 million cumulative content views, and the hashtag "Unboxing Every Day with Shinsegae" achieved approximately 58 million content views, marking the highest record among Shinsegae Duty Free's SNS campaigns. During the event, Shinsegae Duty Free's official Weibo gained about 430,000 new followers, surpassing a total of 4.4 million followers.
The Shinsegae Brand Awards event, which selected the "2019 Best Sellers" by category at Shinsegae Duty Free, was also concluded. This event was conducted daily for 100 days in cooperation with the brands housed in Shinsegae Duty Free.
