[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 16th that it held a tasting event on the 15th at the county office cafeteria to promote pork consumption.

This tasting event was organized to help pig farmers who are struggling due to the recent collapse in pork prices caused by African Swine Fever (ASF) and to promote the safety of domestic pork.

Governor Kim San, National Assembly member Seo Sam-seok, Vice Chairman of the County Council Park Seong-jae, along with other council members, the Muan County branch of the Korean Pork Producers Association, and county office staff took the lead in promoting trustworthy domestic pork by eating boiled pork for lunch. In particular, Governor Kim San personally served boiled pork to the staff to share the difficulties faced by pork farmers.

Governor Kim San of Muan said, “African Swine Fever is harmless to humans, so please do not worry and continue to love our domestic pork,” adding, “I hope the residents will support our pig farmers so they can overcome these difficulties.”
