Automotive Industry to Conduct Free Vehicle Inspections for Lunar New Year Starting from the 20th
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] The Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association announced on the 16th that domestic automakers will conduct the '2020 Lunar New Year Holiday Free Inspection Event' from the 20th to the 23rd of this month to ensure the safety and convenience of drivers traveling home during the Lunar New Year holiday.
All five domestic automakers (Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Motors, GM Korea, Renault Samsung Motors, Ssangyong Motor) will participate in this free inspection event. Preventive inspection services will be provided daily from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM between the 20th and 23rd at each manufacturer’s nationwide direct and partner service centers (a total of 2,274 locations).
Hyundai will conduct inspections at 22 direct service centers and 1,374 Blue Hands partner centers; Kia at 18 direct service centers and 799 AutoQ partner centers; GM Korea at 9 direct service centers; Renault Samsung at 31 partner centers; and Ssangyong at 2 direct service centers and 19 partner centers.
Heater and air conditioner systems, braking devices, tire air pressure and wear, coolant and various oil refills, as well as consumable parts such as wipers and fuses will be inspected and replaced free of charge if necessary. An emergency dispatch team will also be activated to promptly resolve vehicle breakdowns or traffic accident-related stoppages.
