Sejong-si, Support for Childbirth and Childcare Expenses for Women with Disabilities
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City is set to support childbirth and childcare expenses for local women with disabilities.
The city announced on the 15th that it will implement the "Childbirth and Childcare Expense Support Project for Women with Disabilities" starting this year. This project is carried out in accordance with the five-year plan for the development of welfare for people with disabilities in Sejong City established last year and the ordinance on childbirth and childcare support for women with disabilities enacted in October last year.
Childbirth support funds will be provided to women with disabilities who have been registered residents of Sejong City from three months before the newborn's birth date until the application date, with amounts of 500,000 KRW or 1,000,000 KRW depending on the degree of disability.
Childcare support funds will be given monthly at 100,000 KRW per infant to women with disabilities who have been raising infants under 24 months old and have been registered residents of Sejong City from three months before the application date until the month before the infant's second birthday.
