A Man in His 30s, Driving with a Hangover in the Morning, Collides with a Police Car and Is Booked
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] A man in his 30s was booked without detention after crashing into a patrol car while driving with alcohol still in his system.
On the 14th, the Seo-gu Police Station in Incheon announced that they had apprehended Mr. A, who is suspected of violating the Special Act on the Treatment of Traffic Accidents, after he collided with a district patrol car at an intersection in Gyeongseo-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon, around 8:40 a.m. on the 13th, while driving under the influence.
Due to the impact of the accident, Corporal B and Officer C, who were inside the patrol car, were transferred to a nearby hospital and are receiving treatment.
Police investigation revealed that Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration was 0.055%, which is at the level for license suspension.
It was reported that Mr. A made a left turn at the intersection and collided with the patrol car that was going straight in the opposite lane.
During the police investigation, Mr. A stated, "I drank alcohol the day before the accident, so I still had a hangover."
