Japanese Government to Introduce Drone Development Support Measures... "Aiming to Foster Domestic Drones"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] On the 13th, NHK reported that the Japanese government has set a plan to prepare support measures for drone development. This is to foster domestic products from a security perspective, as Chinese-made drones hold a high market share globally.
According to the report, the Japanese government plans to submit a bill including support measures for drone development at the regular Diet session convened this month. The support measures under consideration include low-interest loans from national policy banks to government-recognized companies, development fund subsidies, and tax incentives.
Along with this, new guidelines for drone development will be created to introduce security measures to prevent the leakage of recorded video footage. The aim is to prevent hacking from leaking records stored within drones.

It further stated, "Due to concerns about data leakage or misuse through hacking of drones, the government intends to foster domestic brands from a security standpoint."
