Gwangju Dong-gu 'Village Workplace Youth Intern Support' Project Fully Launched
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 13th that it will actively promote the "Village Workplace Youth Intern Support" project, which secured funding through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's regional-led youth job contest this year.
Dong-gu is recruiting workplaces to participate in this project until the 29th. The recruitment targets are fields necessary for community development such as culture, tourism, care, and education. Workplaces that pass the document and on-site evaluations will be qualified to participate as workplaces that can be matched with youth.
About 19 workplaces matched with youth will receive 90% support for youth labor costs for 9 months. However, workplaces must bear 10% of the labor costs and the employer's portion of the four major insurance premiums.
Eligible workplaces must be located in Dong-gu and offer jobs with sustainable development potential. However, jobs involving simple telephone or visitor consultations, simple customer service and sales at coffee shops or marts, simple labor at construction or production sites, or jobs requiring high expertise or excessive capabilities are excluded.
Workplaces wishing to participate can check detailed information on the district office website and submit the required documents to the Youth Sports Division.
Dong-gu plans to select workplaces through a first document screening and a second on-site evaluation, comprehensively judging work experience content, working environment, and sustainability of the job.
By next month, when the workplace selection is completed, 19 unemployed youth residents of Dong-gu will be selected, and full-scale work experience support will begin in March.
