Residents of Yangcheon-gu aged 19 to 39 and employees working in Yangcheon-gu can participate... Applications accepted until February 3
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) is operating the ‘2nd Yangcheon-gu Youth Network’ to create the future of Yangcheon together and is recruiting youth participants until February 3.
The district has been operating the ‘Youth Network’ since last year to discover, implement, and monitor effective policies that reflect the diverse opinions of youth.
The first-term committee members who were active last year participated in various projects such as hosting meetings for youth housing residents, labor rights lectures and education, Yangcheon Youth Week events, and volunteer activities.
Committee member Kim, who was active in the ‘Education and Human Rights Division,’ said, “It was an opportunity to express inconveniences or wishes while living in Yangcheon-gu, and the process of creating something with the hands of youth for a better Yangcheon-gu was enjoyable.”
The 2nd Yangcheon-gu Youth Network committee members will serve as partners in youth policy for one year until February next year, participating in various activities such as ▲forming and operating divisions by field ▲policy monitoring ▲exchange activities with youth organizations ▲youth week events and forums, gaining opportunities to plan policies.
Youth aged 19 to 39 (as of the announcement date) who are interested in youth issues or aim to develop youth culture and who ▲have an address in Yangcheon-gu, or ▲work (including self-employed) in Yangcheon-gu, or ▲are active in youth organizations or non-profit organizations located in Yangcheon-gu are all eligible to apply.
Youth wishing to participate in the activities can check the detailed information on the Yangcheon-gu Office website (www.yangcheon.go.kr) under Notices or Announcements, then submit the application form and required documents via email to the person in charge (sekeye@yangcheon.go.kr) or to the Youth Policy Team, Job Economy Division, 7th floor, Yangcheon-gu Office (105 Mokdongdong-ro) by 6 p.m. on February 3.
Among the applicants, 35 will be selected through screening, and the results will be individually notified on February 7.
A Yangcheon-gu official said, “The Yangcheon-gu Youth Network is freely conducted under the leadership of youth from division formation to operation, and it is meaningful in that youth discuss youth issues and prepare solutions as the main agents of policy. We look forward to the active participation of youth who want to create Yangcheon-gu’s youth policies with brilliant ideas again this year.”
