[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Park Young-sun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, has become the first Korean minister to be appointed as a board member at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting (Davos Forum) held in Davos, Switzerland, later this month, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 12th.
Minister Park introduced her appointment as a Davos Forum board member on the CBS radio program 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' on the 10th, saying, "This means that the Davos Forum places great importance on policies for small businesses and startups."
Earlier, on the 3rd of this month, Minister Park explained at a meeting with reporters, "I was offered a board member position at the Davos Forum for the first time among Korean ministers," adding, "Since the English name of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups includes 'Startups,' it means that Korea's prioritization of policies for small businesses and startups has been recognized."
