View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Caution is required as rumors spread about the announcement of a 'fake real estate measure' such as the expansion of the price ceiling system area. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) denied the rumors and warned that it will respond strictly to impersonation of the agency.
On the 10th, MOLIT stated, "We inform you that the press release and back briefing plan related to the improvement plan of the price ceiling system being circulated today through social networking services (SNS) are completely false."
Earlier that afternoon, a message titled "MOLIT: Notification of press release distribution and back briefing plan" spread through SNS and internet communities.
The message stated that the government would announce measures on the 13th including ▲expansion of the price ceiling system area ▲realistic adjustment of the ultra-high-priced housing range to 1.2 billion KRW and high-priced housing range to 600 million KRW ▲introduction of a permit system for ultra-high-priced housing transactions.
The format of the message was very similar to what MOLIT usually distributes to the press corps, causing some confusion on SNS.
