Busan Main Customs Office Implements 'Special Export-Import Support Measures for Seollal Holiday'
24-Hour Customs Clearance Support, Same-Day Payment of Duty Refunds
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Yoseop] Busan Main Customs Office is implementing a ‘Lunar New Year Export-Import Customs Clearance Special Support’ measure until the 27th to support export-import companies in the Busan area ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
To this end, Busan Main Customs Office has been operating a ‘Special Customs Clearance Support Team’ since the 10th to support export-import companies, maintaining a 24-hour customs clearance system. In addition, support measures such as same-day payment of customs refunds have been prepared to alleviate the financial burden on small and medium-sized enterprises.
The customs office plans to ensure the smooth supply of seasonal Lunar New Year goods to the market by expediting customs clearance for foods requiring freshness preservation such as ritual items and agricultural, livestock, and fishery products, and securing food safety through intensive inspections of items harmful to public health, such as non-compliant food products.
To prevent cases where export cargo is not shipped and fines are imposed, requests for extension of the shipping period during the holiday will be processed immediately.
Furthermore, in preparation for the high demand for funds during the Lunar New Year holiday, a ‘Customs Refund Special Support Period’ will be operated from the 10th to the 23rd, and working hours will be extended by 2 hours until 8 p.m.
Refund applications submitted during the support period will be paid on the same day as a principle, and applications submitted after bank business hours will be promptly paid by the next morning.
